     Comment by DGB: WARNING: There were two "James Henry Blaney" individuals living in Prescott Co. at roughly the same time and roughly the same age. The son of Charles Blaney and Jane Barton was with that couple for the 1851 and 1861 censuses and was born about 1836 in ON. That same person was living in Caledonia ON with his family for the 1871 census. By the 1881 census the other Jame Henry Blaney (who was born in NB) was living in Caledonia with his wife Ellen and children Frances, George and Phillip. That person was the one who died 8 Aug 1906 in Prescott Co. ON and buried in Fenaghvale Cemetery. End of comment.

     Comment by DGB: This Charles Blaney is said to have married a Nancy Wallace Caldwell, but in a different tree is said to have married a Louise Smyth. Neither option has documentation sources. End of comment.

     Margaret Blaney was born circa 1847 at Sainte Scholastique, QC, Canada.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Blaney and Jane Barton.¹ Margaret Blaney married Daniel Colligan, son of James Colligan and Mary Bears, on 22 July 1866 at East Caledonia, Prescott Co., ON, Canada.² Margaret Blaney died on 23 February 1885 at Alfred, Prescott Co., ON, Canada; listed under maiden name "Margaret Blaney."³ She was buried at St. Victor Parish Cemetery, Alfred, Prescott & Russell, ON, Canada.⁴

     Comment by DGB: There was a baptism for a Jules Colligan 30 Jul 1874 at Alfred ON Canada, where he appears to be the son of Daniel and Margaret Colligan. However, the birth record for their daughter Catherine Colligan was 13 Jun 1874, only a month and a half earlier, but her birth record did not show her to be a twin. It is possible that Jules was born a full year before Catherine and his birth not recorded, which was fairly common in that area of ON. A fairly reliable tree includes Jules as a son of Daniel and Margaret as well as a death year of 1881 for him, but with no further documentation than the baptism record. End of comment.⁷

     Comment by DGB: There is a conflict in children data. The 1901 census includes a son Donald b. Feb 1893 and the 1911 census includes a son Daniel b. Sep 1892......but neither census has both. The time between births is not enough for both to be correct. At this point Daniel has not been included as a son, but potentially could be a grandson. End of comment.⁵
