     Sarah Ellen Dillon was born on 2 November 1864 at Caldwell, Essex Co., NJ.² She was the daughter of George D. Dillon and Rachel Ann Pierce.² Sarah Ellen Dillon married Reuben Elbridge Smith, son of Luther Cory Smith and Mary Frances Shute, on 17 April 1889 at Lemonweir, Juneau Co., WI.³ Sarah Ellen Dillon died on 11 February 1949 at Mauston, Juneau Co., WI, at age 84.² She was buried at Mauston Cemetery, Mauston, Juneau Co., WI.²
     As of 17 April 1889,her married name was Smith.⁴ From a Mauston newspaper obituary: Mrs. Ella D. Smith, a resident of the town of Lemonweir for many years, died at the Mauston hospital here on Friday, Feb. 11th. She had reached the age of 84 years, three months and nine days at the time of her death. On Jan. 9th, slightly more than a month before she succumbed, Mrs. Smith fell and fractured her hip while leaving a car. Later she was taken to the hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Caldwell, New Jersey, and when she was seven years old, came to Mauston with her parents, Mr. And Mrs. George Dillon, who settled on a farm about a mile northeast of this city. There Ella grew to womanhood. On April 17th, 1889, she was united in marriage with Reuben E. Smith of the town of Lemonweir. Seven children were born to this union, four of whom survive. They include two sons and two daughters, Clayton O. Smith of Racine and Frank L. Smith of Lemonweir, and Mrs. Floyd Squires of Naperville, Ill., and Mrs. L. E. Gilchrist of Lemonweir. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was one of a family of 13 children, all of whom have passed except three sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Clawson and Mrs. Frances Reynolds, both of Mauston, and Mrs. Edna Kolb of Minneapolis. Her Husband, Reuben Smith, died in May, 1927, and three of her children preceded her in death. A daughter, Ella May, succumbed at birth; Arthur R. Smith was killed by a train in June 1926, and George L. Smith died about 1937. Mrs. Smith's was a life of service and self-sacrifice and she will be sadly missed by her family and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was in the Oakwood cemetery in Mauston.¹

     Leonard Gilchrist was born circa 1902 at IL.² He was the son of Ronald Gilchrist and Kate (????)³ Leonard Gilchrist married Frances N. Smith, daughter of Reuben Elbridge Smith and Sarah Ellen Dillon, on 5 April 1924.¹ Leonard Gilchrist died in 1961 at WI.³

     Marion Ruth Smith was born on 11 February 1925 at Lemonweir, Juneau Co., WI.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur Reuben Smith and Alice Mae Coleman.¹ Marion Ruth Smith died on 19 June 1926 at Mauston, Juneau Co., WI, at age 1; she and her father were killed by a train.¹ She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Mauston, Juneau Co., WI.¹

     Harry White Clawson was born in June 1865 at Indiana Co., PA.^2,3 He was the son of Hiram Clawson and Eve McLaughlin.² Harry White Clawson married Emily Josephine Smith, daughter of Luther Cory Smith and Mary Frances Shute, on 17 January 1894 at Juneau Co., WI.⁴

     Francis Lafayette Koblitz was born on 14 October 1879 at WI.^2,3 He was the son of Conrad Koblitz and Rosellie (????)² Francis Lafayette Koblitz married Lenora A. Smith, daughter of Luther Cory Smith and Mary Frances Shute, on 30 June 1900 at Columbia Co., WI.⁴
     Francis Lafayette Koblitz registered for Selective Service on 12 September 1918. His residence was Columbus, Columbia Co., WI. He was a warehouse baggage man for a railway. He was of medium height and build with gray eyes and dark hair.³

     Katherine Anna Svoboda was born on 7 April 1892 at New York, New York Co., NY.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Svoboda and Catherine Pavlicka.³ Katherine Anna Svoboda married Clayton Owen Smith, son of Reuben Elbridge Smith and Sarah Ellen Dillon, on 26 June 1912 at Racine, Racine Co., WI.¹ Katherine Anna Svoboda died on 30 January 1983 at age 90; SSDI lists last residence as Racine, Racine Co., WI.^1,2 She was buried on 2 February 1983 at West Lawn Cemetery, Racine, Racine Co., WI.¹
     As of 26 June 1912,her married name was Smith.¹ Obituary from the Racine Journal Times: Smith, Mrs. Katherine A. (nee: Svoboda) age 90. Passed away on Sunday, January 30, 1983, at the Westview Nursing Home. She was born in New York City, New York, on April 7, 1892, and was a resident of Racine for most of her life. Mrs. Smith was a charter member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. Surviving are one daughter, Cathryn Kieffer of Racine; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Marian Smith of Pompano Beach, FL; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton, in 1976. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church with Rev. Theodore Romberg officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at the Church. Memorials to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church have been suggested by the family.³

     From a Mauston newspaper obituary: At his home in the town of Lemonweir, Friday, November 22, 1912, L.C. Smith died. Mr. Smith was born in New York State and came to this county about thirty-five years ago. He has since been a hard working, honest and respected member of his community. He was the father of six children who with their mother, survive him. They are R. E., George, Charles L., and John Smith, Mrs. Emily Clawson and Mrs. Nora Koblitz. He also leaves eighteen grand children, one great grand child and two brothers to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held Monday from the Buglass school house, conducted by Rev. G.H.R. Kershaw, of this city.²
