     Alma Jane Porter was born on 14 September 1854 at East Farnham, QC, Canada.^1,2 She was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow Porter and Sarah Catherine Fordice.¹ Alma Jane Porter married Rufus Lemuel Ball, son of Alanson Ball and Seraph Wright, on 1 January 1878 at Roxton Pond, Shefford Co., QC, Canada.³ Alma Jane Porter died on 11 August 1931 at Grandview, MB, Canada, at age 76.⁴

     Alanson Ball was born on 19 April 1793 at Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.² He was the son of Joseph Ball and Olive Phelps.¹ Alanson Ball was baptized on 3 April 1853 at Methodist Church, Shefford, Shefford Co., QC, Canada.³ He married Seraph Wright, daughter of Lemuel Wright and Deborah Erskine.¹ Alanson Ball died on 11 May 1853 at South Roxton, Shefford Co., QC, Canada, at age 60.^1,4
     He moved from Stanstead to Roxton circa 1833.⁵

     Seraph Wright was born circa 1794 at Jericho, Chittenden Co., VT.¹ She was the daughter of Lemuel Wright and Deborah Erskine.² Seraph Wright married Alanson Ball, son of Joseph Ball and Olive Phelps.¹ Seraph Wright died circa March 1860 at Roxton, Shefford Co., QC, Canada; listed on the 1861 census of Roxton in the family of son Wright as having died during the previous year.^2,3 She was buried at Anglican Church, Milton/Roxton, Shefford Co., QC, Canada.²
     Her married name was Ball.¹

     Joseph Ball was born on 13 September 1748 at Lebanon, New London Co., CT.² He was the son of Ebenezer Ball and Mary Child.¹ Joseph Ball married Olive Phelps on 21 May 1786 at Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.³ Joseph Ball died in 1828 at Stanstead, QC, Canada.¹

     Olive Phelps was born circa 1756 at Preston, New London Co., CT.¹ She married Joseph Ball, son of Ebenezer Ball and Mary Child, on 21 May 1786 at Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.² Olive Phelps died on 6 September 1826 at Stanstead, QC, Canada.³ She was buried at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, QC, Canada.³
     As of 21 May 1786,her married name was Ball.¹

     Ebenezer Ball was born on 1 June 1716 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA.² He was the son of Benjamin Ball and Mehitable Maxwell.¹ Ebenezer Ball married Mary Child on 13 December 1739 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA.³ Ebenezer Ball died circa 1791 at Lebanon, New London Co., CT.⁴
     He was a "rate payer" contributing to pay the minister's salary.⁵

     Mary Child was born say 1718; Comment by DGB: some trees show Mary to be the daughter of Joshua and Deborah Child of Brookline MA and born 24 Dec 1718, but that child died before 5 Jul 1723 when Joshua and Deborah named another child Mary. End of comment.¹ She married Ebenezer Ball, son of Benjamin Ball and Mehitable Maxwell, on 13 December 1739 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA.² Mary Child died on 26 January 1789 at Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.³ She was buried at Meeting House Hill Cemetery, Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.⁴
     As of 13 December 1739,her married name was Ball.⁵

     He may have been the John Dyer (son of Christopher Dyer) born circa 1664 at Sheepscot, Lincoln Co., ME and that died on 23 April 1733 at Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA.¹ John Dyer and Abigail Ball were partners circa 1690.²

     Mary Ball was born; probable daughter.¹ She was the daughter of Francis Ball and Abigail Salter.¹

     Diadama Ball was born on 10 August 1786 at Norwich, Windsor Co., VT.² She was the daughter of Joseph Ball and Olive Phelps.¹ Diadama Ball married James Glidden, son of Simeon Glidden, on 15 June 1803 at Newport, Orleans Co., VT.² Diadama Ball died on 10 September 1855 at Flushing, Genesee Co., MI, at age 69.³ She was buried at Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, Genesee Co., MI.⁴
     Diadama Ball was also known as Damy. Diadama Ball was also known as Deidamia. As of 15 June 1803,her married name was Glidden.¹
