Lydia Bennett

F, #68825, b. circa 1813
Lydia Bennett was born circa 1813 at OH.1 She was the daughter of John Bennett and Elizabeth McCullen. Lydia Bennett married John Halleck Partlow, son of Jacob Partlow and Mary (????), on 1 November 1832.
As of 1 November 1832,her married name was Partlow. Comment by DGB: Both Lydia and her husband John may have died before the 1870 census since neither is living with their younger unmarried children. What is confusing is that there is a family in 1870 living in Johnson IL headed by "Maria" Partlow (possibly Rowan) aged 25 and including Columbus, Melissa, and Jacob. There are three other children "Phebe Bush" age 14, "John Halleck" age 15, and "Richard Lewis" age 4. On the 1880 census for Johnson IL has Marion McDonald Partlow, his wife and three children joined by Columbus Newton Partlow (correctly identified as a brother to Marion), "John H. Partlow" age 13 and "Richard L. Partlow" age 12 and both are listed as "half brother". These look like the John and Richard on the 1870 census, but suggests that the age of John Halleck Partlow on the 1870 census really was 5, not 15. The logical conclusion is that Lydia (Bennett) Partlow died between 1860 and 1864 and John Halleck Partlow remarried, had two children (John and Richard) and himself died before the 1870 census. End of comment.
