Hodgson and Regina May (????), on 20 February 1947 at Parham United Church, Parham, Frontenac Co., ON, Canada.1 Florence Mona Ball died on 12 December 2012 at Kingston, Frontenac Co., ON, Canada, at age 91.2 She was buried at Glenhaven Cemetery, Glenburnie, Frontenac Co., ON, Canada.2
     As of 20 February 1947,her married name was Hodgson. From the Scrapbook of Mrs. Jennie Benn: A wedding of interest was solemnized in Parham United Church, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 20, when Florence Mona, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Ball, became the bride of Charles William, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Hodgson of Harrowsmith. Rev. William Sunter of Smithfield performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length gown of white chiffon over silk, trimmed with silk braid. She carried an arm bouquet of red roses.
The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Eleanor Kennedy, as bridesmaid, dressed in a floor length gown of blue chiffon over blue silk. She carried a nosegay of mixed flowers. Mr. Harry Hodgson, brother of the groom was best man. Miss Marjorie Hodgson, sister of the groom played the wedding music. During the signing of the register, Mr. Frank Whitely sang 'O Perfect Love.' Mr. Gordon Ball of St. Thomas, brother of the bride and Mr. George Hodgson, brother of the groom, acted as ushers.
     Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home, where her mother received the guests, wearing a blue crepe two piece dress and a corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother assisted, wearing navy crepe and a corsage of pink carnations. a buffet lunch was served from a table centred with a bouquet of pink and white carnations, pink and white streamers, pink tapers and a three tier wedding cake.
Later, amid showers of confetti, the bride and groom left on a wedding trip to Toronto, Niagra Falls, Rochester, and Webster, N.Y. The bride travelled in a brown ensemble with matching accessories and a green wool coat with Cross fox fur. On their return they will take up residence at Roblin where the groom has purchased a general store. Out of town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. G.K. Ball, St Thomas; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore and Miss Dora Moore, Hamilton; Mrs. Petty and son, Cherrywood; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hodgson of Port Hope; Mr. and Mrs. Goldie Clarke, Napanee; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, Odessa; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Watson, Harrowsmith; Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Vaness and Mrs. Close, Verona; Miss Iva Smith and Miss Pauline Freeman, Ottawa.1 Sometime after 1954 Charles William Hodgson and Florence Mona Ball adopted a daughter and a son that thereafter went by the names of Sherry Hodgson and Harold Hodgson.3

     From another obituary: After a lengthy illness, Charles passed away December 17, 2003 at the age of 86. Born in Cherrywood (Pickering Township), he was a resident of the Harrowsmith area for 80 years. He farmed in Harrowsmith with his wife Florence 'Mona' (Ball) for over 35 years. As a child he attended Harrowsmith Public School and Sydenham High School and for 31 years was a member of Portland Community Church. He has been a member of the Lakeview Gospel Assembly for the past three years. Char les special interests included fishing, hunting and cottage life. He enjoyed working with the children in the church community and was a member of the S & A Club and a 60 year member of 109 Albion Lodge. Charles retired 24 years ago after working for Alcan Canada for 32 years. He is survived by his wife Mona, daughter Lucille (Dale) Bruce, son Harold (Lorri) Hodgson, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sister Marjorie (Duane) Thompson, nieces and nephews. Charles was predeceased by his son Brian, daughter Sherry, parents Arthur W. and Regina May Hodgson, brothers Harry, George, Roy and Ernie. The funeral was held December 20, 2003 with Rev David Spurrell and John F. Craig officiating. Pallbearers were Keith Ball, Gordon Ball, David Hodgson, Scott Thompson, Richard Hodgson and Jonathon Bruce. Interment was at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens.1
