Lavery and Melvina (????), circa 1882.2,3 Emma A. Ball died on 12 August 1920 at Sumner, Pierce Co., WA, at age 59.4 She was buried at Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater, Thurston Co., WA.5
     As of circa 1882,her married name was Lavery. From an obituary in the "Tacoma News Tribune": Mrs. Emma Lavery of Olympia, while riding in an automobile Thursday evening, was fatally stricken from throat trouble and died shortly after being removed from the automobile. In the machine at the time were Mrs. Lavery's husband, Joseph Lavery, and son, Earl....Mrs. Lavery suffered from paralysis of the throat for years. The party had been camping near Sumner, and Thursday started on a short automobile trip. Suddenly Mrs. Lavery fell back unconscious. She died at the home of Superintendent Hawthorne of the county farm without regaining consciousness.6

Ball married David Turner, son of Charles Daniel Turner and Sarah Elizabeth Crown, on 18 January 1885 at Portland, Multnomah Co., OR.4 Margaret M. Ball died on 26 November 1953 at Dayton, Columbia Co., WA, at age 87.5 She was buried at Dayton City Cemetery, Dayton, Columbia Co., WA.6
     As of 18 January 1885,her married name was Turner.4 From an obituary: Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Hurbbard-Rogg chapel for Mrs. Dave (Margaret Ball) Turner, who died Thursday in the hospital after a short illness following a number of years of failing health. Mrs. Turner was born in Tualatin, Oregon, December 19, 1865, and arrived in the Dayton community about 67 years ago. her husband preceded her in death in March, 1948. Survivors include nine children, Mrs. Myrtle Randolph, Mrs. Reed (Alice) Able, Ben Turner and Harry Turner, all of Dayton; Mrs. Roy Crall of Waitsburg; Mrs. Zella Groves of Tacoma; Forest Turner of Toppenish; George Turner of Spokane, and Lovette T.
