When about twelve years of age she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anson Dodge, to Ohio and in that state on August 19, 1849, she was married to Nelson H. Ball. The following year she moved to Cheboygan arriving here about April 25, 1850. In February 1852 she moved to the east side of Mullet Lake to what is known as the Ball farm. She was the mother of three sons, Nelson Jr., Quintus, and Charles and one daughter, Adora, the only one to survive her is her son Quintus C. with whom she resided and who was able to care for his mother in her last days. The funeral took place Monday from the home. Rev Pearson of the Baptist church officiating. The interment was at Maple Grove Cemetery at Mullet.2

The funeral was held in Conneaut and interment made there, although the remains of Mr Ball who died at his Aloha home about 21 years ago were laid at rest in the Aloha cemetery. Mrs. Ball was born at Conneaut 67 years ago and taught school for awhile at the Mullet Lake school. She was united in marriage to Mr. Ball 43 years ago last January by Judge Maulbey, Justices of the Peace being more plentiful in this country those days than preachers. To Mr. and Mrs. Ball all two children survive, namely Mrs Nellie Scott of Aloha and Norman H. Ball of Conneaut. Mrs. Ball moved back to the Ohio city eighteen years ago.3

From an obituary in the "Observer": Quint C. Ball's funeral was held at the chapel at the Pine Hill cemetery on Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock, Rev. Perham conducting the service and music was furnished by Miss Effie Chapman and Gladys McLaughlin. Mr. Ball died a the Traverse City hospital on Sunday morning at seven o'clock and the remains arrived here on Monday. Mr. Ball had been a life time resident of this community being born on what has been known as the Ball farm near the Mullet Lake station. Ball is survived by his widow, who is ill and was unable to attend the funeral of her husband. Mr. Ball has been in failing health for a long while and a short while ago was taken to the hospital for treatment, but he did not improve there and passed away as above stated. Mr. Ball is one of the pioneers of the county and had been identified with many things in which he had gained a considerable acquaintance all over the County and throughout the city.3

Landry, daughter of Theophile Landry and Elizabeth (????), on 17 April 1876 at Cheboygan Co., MI.1 Charles Francis Ball died on 23 January 1899 at Harshaw, Oneida Co., WI, at age 42; shot as a result of a robbery at a saloon he owned.2
