     Uzal Ball was born on 20 March 1747/48 at Orange, Essex Co., NJ.¹ He was the son of Timothy Ball and Esther Bruen.¹ Uzal Ball married Abigail Burnet.¹ Uzal Ball married Rebecca Hedden, daughter of Ebenezer Hedden.¹ Uzal Ball died on 9 April 1799 at age 51.¹ He was buried at Springfield Church, Springfield, NJ.¹
     Uzal Ball was a Private in Captain Gillam's Company in 1780.¹ Administration of the estate of Uzal Ball of Essex Co., dec'd.¹

NJ, with wife Peninah, son Albert, grand-daughter Almeda, and daughter Susan and family.³

     Uzal Ball was born between 1790 and 1802.¹ He was the son of Jonathan Ball and Phebe Headley.¹ Uzal Ball died after 1800 at Jefferson Village, NJ.¹

     Valentine Zahniser Ball was born on 11 September 1835 at Stoneboro, Mercer Co., PA.¹ He was the son of William F. Ball and Sarah Zahniser.¹ Valentine Zahniser Ball married Susan Griffin in 1858 at Lancaster, Lancaster Co., PA.¹ Valentine Zahniser Ball married Mary Ann White, daughter of George Washington White and Susannah Kerr Wallace, on 25 October 1870.¹ Valentine Zahniser Ball died on 22 September 1914 at Cherokee Co., KS, at age 79.¹

PA, with parents, etc.² He appeared on the census of 15 June 1860 at Green, Mecosta Co., MI; "Valentine Z." age 24, b. PA, farm laborer, with wife Susan and son Oscar.³ He appeared on the census of 10 August 1870 at Worth, Mercer Co., PA; "Valentine Z." age 34, b. PA, blacksmith, with children Oscar, Eugene, and Elizabeth.⁴

     Valeria Lillian Ball was born on 8 April 1900 at MI.¹ She was the daughter of Lewis Lucius Ball and Sabina Estella Bigsby.¹

     Van Hazen Ball was born on 5 March 1905 at PA.^2,1 He was the son of Napoleon Bonaparte Ball and Lucy Willamina Kloz.¹ Van Hazen Ball married Sylvia Ruby Cady in 1926.¹ Van Hazen Ball and Sylvia Ruby Cady were divorced.¹

PA, with parents, etc.² He appeared on the census of 8 January 1920 at Montrose, Susquehanna Co., PA; "Van" age 16, b. PA, farm laborer, with parents, etc.³ He appeared on the census of 15 April 1930 at Montrose, Susquehanna Co., PA; "Van H." age 25, b. PA, laborer at a wood lot, with wife Sylvia and children Van, Barbara, and Paul.⁴

     Van Karl Ball is the son of Van Hazen Ball and Sylvia Ruby Cady.¹

     Van Rennsealaer Ball was born circa 1820 at VT.² He married Olive Gallup, daughter of Luke Gallup and Melinda Williams, on 1 January 1846 at Ledyard, New London Co., CT.¹ Van Rennsealaer Ball married Amanda (????) on 27 October 1850 at New London, New London Co., CT.¹ Van Rennsealaer Ball died on 18 October 1891 at Groton, New London Co., CT.¹
     Van Rennsealaer Ball appeared on the census of 22 October 1850 at Stonington, New London Co., CT; "Van R." age 28, b. VT, ship carpenter.³ He appeared on the census of 13 July 1860 at Groton, New London Co., CT; "Van Rans" age 35, b. VT, ship carpenter, with second wife Amanda.⁴ He appeared on the census of 6 July 1870 at Groton, New London Co., CT; "Van R." age 50, b. VT, ship carpenter, with second wife Amanda (note that Roswell and Thomas Fish from the next household are listed as well under Van R. Ball).⁵ He appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 at Groton, New London Co., CT; "Van R." age 60, b. VT, butcher, with second wife Amanda.²

     Vance Howard Ball was born circa 1895.¹ He was the son of Fred Howard Ball and Alta A. Curtis.¹

     Vanessa Mae Ball is the daughter of Russell Edward Ball and Margaret Mary Baker.¹

     Varnum Ball was born on 30 June 1807 at MA.¹ He was the son of Ebenezer Ball and Phebe Wesson.¹ Varnum Ball married Nancy Ball, daughter of Hannah Bailey, on 2 September 1828.¹ Varnum Ball died on 6 February 1874 at Lunenburg, Worcester Co., MA, at age 66.²

NY, mechanic, with wife Mary and daughter Julia; living near parents and also appears to be listed with them as "Barnum" age 24, b. NY.⁵ He appeared on the census of 10 June 1870 at Litchfield, Herkimer Co., NY; "Varnum" age 38, b. NY, farm laborer, with wife Mary and daughters Cora and Julia.³ He appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 at Litchfield, Herkimer Co., NY; "Varnm" age 45, b. NY, laborer, with wife Mary and sons Charles, William and Horatio; living next to parents and near brother Jared. Curiously son Charles was listed ahead of wife Mary.⁶ He appeared on the census of 5 June 1900 at Litchfield, Herkimer Co., NY; "Barney" age 65, b. NY, stone mason, with wife Mary and son Horatio; possibly living between brothers Daniel and Jared.² He appeared on the census of 29 April 1910 at Litchfield, Herkimer Co., NY; "Varnum" age 76, b. NY, widower, living with son Horatio.⁷

     Varnum E. Ball was born on 17 January 1829.¹ He was the son of Hosea Ball and Sarah Holmes.¹ Varnum E. Ball died on 15 March 1844 at age 15.¹

     Varnum Walter Ball was born on 16 October 1865.¹ He was the son of George Varnum Ball and ElizaJ. Burbank.¹ Varnum Walter Ball died on 24 April 1905 at CA at age 39.¹

     Velma Ball was born in December 1894 at NY.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Benjamin Ball and Cora V. Stoddard.¹

     Velma Alice Ball was born on 31 March 1872 at Mansfield, Bristol Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Hilliard Earl Ball and Laurana I. Wilbur.¹

     Velma Juanita Ball was born on 18 June 1898 at Boonville, Mendocino Co., CA.¹ She was the daughter of Emmett Burnham Ball and Etta Ellen Ingram.¹ Velma Juanita Ball married Lilburn Irwin Gibson, son of Mathew Beauregard Gibson and Cora Edith Babcox, on 13 December 1916 at Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA.¹ Velma Juanita Ball died on 23 October 1986 at Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA, at age 88.¹ She was buried on 27 October 1986 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA.¹
     Velma Juanita Ball appeared on the census of 15 June 1900 at Anderson, Mendocino Co., CA; "Velma J." age 1, b. CA, with parents, etc.² From an obituary from the "Ukiah Daily Journal": Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 27, 2 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary for longtime Ukiah, resident Velma Juanita Gibson, 88. Born June 18 1898, in Boonville, she was a housewife, past master of the Eastern Star and past president of Kosmos Club. She died Oct. 23, 1986 after a long illness. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with officers of the Eastern Star officiating. She was the widow of the late Supreme Court Judge Lilburn J. Gibson and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Ball of the pioneer Jefferson David Bell [sic] family and descendent of the pioneer Ingram and Clow families of Anderson Valley. Gibson moved to Ukiah when she was six years old and during her early married life she was half owner of a flower shop in Ukiah. One brother, Ernest B. Bell [sic] and a sister, Edna Holliday, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Arden R. Gibson and Ernestine Davis of Ukiah; grandchildren Susan Miles and Judith Zwicky of Ukiah, Sandra Davis of Sebastopol and Sheryl L. Flores of Virginia Beach, VA. Great-grandchildren are Robert N. and Michael J. Zwicky of Ukiah; Jennifer and Sarah Miles of Ukiah; Kathryn Zwicky Quinones of Davis and Raymond Flores of Virginia Beach. Her great, great grandchild is Christopher Zwicky of Ukiah. Her sister Lola Wilson of Ukiah, brother Irvin of Ukiah and several nieces and nephews also survive.³
