Lila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and her sister Ruth Streeter and brother Carl Streeter. After Paul passed away in 1978, Lila traveled extensively with senior citizen group tours, served in various capacities with the Gladwin Retired Teachers Association and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Lila is survived by her sons Larry (Jacqueline) Isberg of Lees Summit, Missouri, and Ernest (Debra) Isberg of Midland. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, one great grandchild, her brother Harold (Pauline) Streeter, her aunt Mary Carpenter both of Rockford, Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Isberg was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Gladwin Fraternal Order of Eagles 3292. He was married to the former Lila Streeter in 1946 in Rockford.      From an obituary: Alger Streeter 57, of Rockford foreman of the Wolverine Shoe and Tanning Corporation in Rockford suffered a heart attack while driving his car late sunday afternoon and died a few hours after at the home of his brother-in-law Chester Dunn, in Courtland township where he had stopped to rest. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges. Surviving are the widow, Elva; two daughters, Ruth, a teacher in Plainwell and Lila who is a teacher in the Tustin school; two sons in service, Carl in France and Harold at North Camp Hood, Tex; one sister Mrs. Mary Empie of Cedar Springs and three brothers, Charles and H.D. of Rockford and Ted of Cedar Springs. Alger started collecting postcards in 1908 saving them in an album designed for that purpose. Many of the postcards had messages on them usually notes from family about items like invitations to dinner etc. Sisters Mary and Bernice both wrote him teasing notes about his riding a goat. Others had messages from friends about their travels or sharing news. He also saved postcards that Elva had received before and after their marriage. In 1910 he was part of the Modern Woodmen of America Drill Team in Rockford, Rogue River Camp 6022.1

     Ruth started teaching in the late 1920's while taking Summer School classes at Western Michigan University to complete her degree. She taught for many years in Plainwell, MI. Then she went to Rockford to teach and later become an Elementary School Principal at Parkside Elementary School which opened in 1954. Ruth completed her B. A. in Education and continued attending Western Michigan University during Summer School until she received her Masters Degree in Education in the mid 1950's. Ruth was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebekahs - female auxiliary of the IOOF. Her father was in IOOF as was her maternal grandfather, George Henry Dunn.1
