     From an obituary: Guy Metz Sr. died Saturday at 'Bluffs. He succumbed Saturday in the Scottsbluff hospital. He was born December 25, 1889, in Banner County to John Daniel and Emma Virginia Uglow Metz. He moved to Kearney in 1891, where he grew up. He homesteaded northeast of Bridgeport in 1913. He married Pearl A. Dollard at Kearney February 14, 1914. They farmed and ranched in the Angora community until his retirement in 1941. They moved to Bridgeport in 1942. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wheat Growers Association, and Bridgeport Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, Guy H. Jr. of Scottsbluff and Dale F. Kennewick, Washington; three daughters, Mrs. Walter L. (Eunice) Barry of Minatarre, Mrs. Robert D. (Betty Ann)McFarland of Elmherst, Illinois, and Mrs. Floyd A. (Norma Jane) Dasher of Scottsbluff; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was proceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.³
