     Mazie Lillian Ball was born on 4 April 1898 at Fayette Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Fred E. Ball and Clara Belle Sherwood.¹ Mazie Lillian Ball married Thomas Fletcher Ball, son of Thomas Jefferson Ball and Lydia Ellen McFatridge, on 29 March 1923 at Rushville, Rush Co., IN.¹ Mazie Lillian Ball died on 9 December 1964 at Connersville, Fayette Co., IN, at age 66.¹ She was buried at Dale Cemetery, Connersville, Fayette Co., IN.¹
     Mazie's line back, as far as known, was Fred E. Ball and Clara Belle Sherwood, Benjamin J. Foss, daughter of Israel Putnam Foss and Martha Ellen Knight, on 1 September 1883 at Machias, Washington Co., ME.¹ Fred Peabody Bowers died in September 1938 at Sebastopol, Sonoma Co., CA, at age 79.¹
     Sometime before 1900 Fred and Linnie Bowers adopted a daughter, Catherine Gertrude. She was said to have been born 9 July 1894 in Maine and died in December 1980. Catherina married 10 August 1919 to Ernest F. King.³

     Linnie E. Foss was born on 15 September 1867 at Machias, Washington Co., ME.¹ She was the daughter of Israel Putnam Foss and Martha Ellen Knight.¹ Linnie E. Foss married Fred Peabody Bowers, son of Jonas Bowers and Frances Amelia Smith, on 1 September 1883 at Machias, Washington Co., ME.¹ Linnie E. Foss died on 19 January 1934 at Napa, Napa Co., CA, at age 66.¹ She was buried at Sebastopol, Sonoma Co., CA.¹
     As of 1 September 1883,her married name was Bowers.

     Israel Putnam Foss was born on 18 April 1838 at Machias, Washington Co., ME.¹ He was the son of Charles F. Foss and Sarah Allen.² Israel Putnam Foss married Martha Ellen Knight, daughter of Stephen Knight and Lydia Wescott Johnson, on 8 May 1864 at Machiasport, Washington Co., ME; Comment by DGB: There was a marriage intention posted 22 Apr 1864 between Israel P. Foss of Machias and Mary Ann Green of Portland that may have been a precursor to this marriage. End of comment.¹ Israel Putnam Foss married Leoniece Hannah Kilton, daughter of Josiah H. Knight, circa 1813.² Sarah Bryant married Thomas Jefferson Bryant, son of Samuel Davis Bryant and Elizabeth Bowker, on 4 July 1821.¹ Sarah Bryant died on 18 April 1868 at Machias, Washington Co., ME, at age 72.¹

     Lydia Wescott Johnson was born circa 1816 at Machias, Washington Co., ME.² She was the daughter of Joseph Brookings Johnson and Nancy Wescott.² Lydia Wescott Johnson married Stephen Knight, son of Robert Knight and Sarah Bryant, circa 1837.³ Lydia Wescott Johnson died on 12 February 1889 at Kennebec, Machias Co., ME.² She was buried at West Kennebec Cemetery, Machias, Washington Co., ME.⁴
