     David Rugg was born on 9 June 1746 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.1 He was the son of Joseph Rugg and Ruth Glasier.2 David Rugg married Sally Davis on 15 February 1777 at Princeton, Worcester Co., MA.1,2 David Rugg married Lucy Ball, daughter of Daniel Ball and Lucy Newton, on 20 April 1779 at Hubbardston, Worcester Co., MA.3 David Rugg died on 13 October 1827 at Woodbury, Caledonia Co., VT, at age 81. His estate was probated on 27 March 1828 at Caledonia Co., VT; "State of Vermont, Washington District: On Probate Court holden at Montpelier within and for said district on the 27th day of March A.D. 1828: Joseph Blanchard of Woodbury is in the County of Caledonia is appointed administrator on the estate of David Rugg late of Calais in said district deceased and the said Joseph accepts said trust and is allowed until the 27th day of March A.D. 1829 to settle his administration account & he is ordered to pay all just debts of said deceased within one year from this date. Bonds are executed by the said Joseph with Ezekiel Ball surety according to law and a letter of administration is issued to him in due form. Attest Daniel P. Thompson Reg."
     He bought 40 acres in W. 27 L.A., which he sold ten years later. in 1787 at Royalton, Windsor Co., VT.1 He commenced entitlement to military pension for service in the American Revolution (private in the Massachusetts continental line). His annual allowance was $96.00 on 6 April 1818.
